term 4 week 3

This week I have learnt a word called onomatopoiea . It means a thing that makes a sound. for example my dog goes woof woof woof. we had Harold on Tuesday. He is a giraffe that talks to you about health. And we had an art show on Wednsday  every one had a piece of art in it.I felt splendid. I was very happy to have my mum and dad see my art work. They said it was excellent. I felt cheerful. On Thursday we did stuff on community groups. We had to choose what we need in life and what we want in life. We also had to think of some foundations.

Our Final Term

We have begun our final term for 2008.
This week saw the start of the swimming program and has seen us all settle quickly into some very exciting tasks. We have been brainstorming and analysing what makes a good friend to us. Maths has seen us begin to look at co-ordinates and directions and we will soon be playing battleships!
In science this term we are building structures to determine how they can be made more stable we will be starting with Straw towers... so far they are not very stable but we will see how we can strengthen them in the weeks to come. I am already hearing words like "stabilising straws and scaffolding".
And finally we are having some fun with alliteration of sentences this week. "English is extremely exciting when executing exact examples".

Science celebration

Our term ended with a wonderful celebration of science where the students were able to share their hard work with friends and family. The students in Year 4 have been busily working on a science fair investigation of their choice.
The students used the scientific method to conduct a scientific investigation, and they learnt about how to carry out a fair test.
We enjoyed a super shared afternoon tea. Thank you to the students for all their hard work and to the parents for their wonderful support of this occassion.

Another week has been and gone! We are fast approaching the end of our term. Students are busy organising their Science Fair activities and enjoying their work on myths and mythical creatures. Our weekly newsletter has continued, thank you Sid!
Hopefully we will soon have an answer regarding our question, "Can we have rights without responsibility?"

OUR KEEN LEARNERS!

This week has seen the start of some great initiatives by students. It has been really exciting and cool to see students begin to express their thoughts and ideas in different ways. One example has been Siddarth, who created his very own newsletter on class activities. Congratulations to him on an excellent job. I look forward to posting a range of students work and seeing many more ideas come to life over the remainder of the year!
